DMM Straight Alien Ice Axe

The Alien was born to bring all the features and technical advantages of the Predator to a lighter, simpler and more compact axe. The use of a straight shaft enables the head length to be reduced considerably, shaving vital grams and creating a more precise and sensitive feel to the swing. These changes endear the Alien to mixed climbing as well as making it an ideal all-around, general purpose technical tool for icefall or alpine face. Available as an axe or hammer in 45, 50 and 55 cm lengths. Color: violet. Head material: "new" 2014T6 aluminum. Shaft material: 7075T6 aluminum.

Alien Headset "The Mixed Advantage" features: ultra compact for accessing placements in confined cracks or chimneys; ultra light for superior placement control; integrated "wedge" for unrivalled hooking into crack extrusions; severely hooked and toothed underside of headset; shaped for increased torquing and wedging options.

Modular Components: Other picks, leashes, and hammer/adzes are available. Both the straight and bent shaft Aliens come as standard with DMM's icefall pick, standard leash and either the technical hammer or new mixed adze.
