DMM Scrubes

DMM Scrubes are acknowledged as being one of the quickest, easiest and safest forms of ice screw protection. Manufactured from light, but high strength, Chrome moly steel, they are then Zinc plated for maximum corrosion resistance. Scrubes are of the drive-in/screw-out variety of ice screw, making them suitable for all types of ice climbing except for use on very brittle, slender columns. The first part of the shaft is threaded to give two advantages: 1. Placement is easier as the threaded, larger diameter section enters the pre-cored hole produced by the leading edge of the tube. 2. Extraction is easier as only the threaded part of the shaft must be removed before the screw can be withdrawn from the ice. The back of the tube has a long, open ended cleaning slot which allows the pick of your axe to easily remove the core of ice that is left in the screw after use.  15kN maximum strength when placed correctly. Available in 10cm and 17cm lengths.
