HARD CHOC Fall: The analysis of mountain accidents shows us that most ropes do not withstand abrasion on edges.  Conventional ropes break when they are submitted to this type of fall.  In its constant improvement and search for higher security levels, ROCA has found a solution to this problem.  TASMANIA 9mm (double) and TASMANIA 10.5mm (single) ropes endure the UIAA edge test (complementary test to the UIAA norms).  This test is the same as the standard, but substituting the plaque-snaphook by a metal 90-degree angle with a rounded edge having 0.75mm radius.

Climbing in remote places with complex structures like dihedrals, edges or blocks demands a rope where the most important feature is its resistance in every situation.  TASMANIA 9mm ropes are developed to withstand the HARD CHOC fall.   Designed to be used as a double rope.
